degradation & removal of the/a black male
“degradation & removal of the/a black male” is 400 posters of my face hung in Toronto and Montreal. I photographed the responses over a four-year period. Photos are combined with written experiences of feeling “otherness.” Visitor submitted stories are also integrated with the photographs.
In this project collaborative storytelling creates an online communal experience. Beginning at the place of individual narratives the project opens up to examine the shared human condition of “otherness.”

feel: the longing for home
FEEL is a story-sharing space based on my poetry, interactive concept and photography. FEEL is designed to provoke reflection on the meaning and mythology of home This project was a commission for the Web Magazine Horizon Zero published by the Banff Centre for the Arts.
The interactive design, execution & build of FEEL was deftly accomplished by the Horizon Zero team. This project is archived therefore the submission engine and collected posts are disabled.
ghosts of industry
Ghosts of Industry is an experiential narrative website of the Bitumount historical site in northern Alberta. This was where the first tar sands were refined to produce oil. I was responsible for photography.
This project required a visual approach that fit the form and feel of the story. The narrative approach taken by the design & build team was sympathetic to my personal work. This provided an open environment for an evocative photographic style.
